The Way the IRS Operates
A bad tradition started in the IRS. They start each day with a song. It’s very symbolic of the organization. It’s “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.” That’s the song the IRS employees sing every day. I wonder how they got that song. They must have taken the most boring song in the world and said, “That’s our song.”
The song is about a guy who works on the railroad and he’s got to get up at 4 o’clock in the morning to go to work, and then he works until 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
Every time I hear that song I think, “You know, I’m not going to want to work at the IRS.”
